1989 Highlights:

• Senator Gary Lee was appointed as Executive Assistant to World President on Public Relations and Marketing.
• Senator Stephen Chan was appointed as Special Assistant to World President on Public Relations and Marketing for Area A.
• Senator Junia Ho was elected as the Director of JCI ASPAC Senate Board at the JCI Yokohama Conference. 
• 1 NOM Award, 5 LOM Awards and 1 Certificate of Merit was won by Hong Kong Junior Chamber of Commerce and its Chapters at the JCI Yokohama Conference. Senator Davis Kwong of Queensway Jaycees was the second runner-up in the World Speaking Competition during JCI Yokohama Conference.
• Hong Kong Junior Chamber of Commerce won 4 NOM and 2 LOM Awards in the JCI Birmingham World Congress. In addition, Hong Kong Junior Chamber of Commerce had fulfilled JCI 100% Efficiency Program.
• Hong Kong Junior Chamber of Commerce was invited to participate in the first “Youth Rally” of the Youth Festival organized by the Hong Kong Government.
• NOM Initiated three departments and one committee in further emphasis the development work of these areas, namely, Public Relations, Training, 
  International, as well as Community Concern Group. 
• NOM selected ten 12 years old students participating in The 1st Asia Pacific Children Convention held in Fukuoka. 
• The first and only Youth organization in Hong Kong visited the All China Youth Federation in Beijing.
• NOM organized with 17 chapters on a Theme project “Children’s Right for A Better Tomorrow” which, for the first time, won the Most Outstanding JCI Theme Project Award and Cash Prize of US$75 at the JCI Birmingham World Congress.
• NOM organized the 1st ever World Jaycee Day event on December 11 1989 with local Legislative Councilors, JCI Officers, celebrities, and over 200 members attended.
