1959 Highlights:
- In the first two months of 1959, the Jaycee Noodle Machines produced 89,975 lbs. of noodles that fed 17, 497 refugee families. With all the five machines in operation, approximate daily production of 5,000 lbs. of noodles provided food for 1,000 refugee families per day.
- In co-operation with the Standard-Sing Tao group of newspapers, the Jaycees opened a $12,500 Hobby Centre for poor children at the Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs Association Training Centre on Oct 14.
- Widespread damage and loss of life was caused by flood and landslides in Hong Kong in the early part of June A sum of $500 from Jaycees was donated to the victims.
